Welcome to 7th grade and the 2007-2008 school year. My husband and I have settled into our new home and look forward to learning all about San Antonio and its people. As a new-to-Shepherd teacher I look forward to meeting many new people. Please introduce yourself; telling me your name will no doubt need to happen more than once since learning so many new people seems to be a daunting task at this point.
Previously I have taught 2nd grade, 5/6 grade, 7th-12th grade, 7th grade, 4th grade, and most recently 6th grade. Yes, that is about 20 years of teaching. I have coached basketball at many levels, as well as volleyball. In addition, I was an athletic director for several years. We moved to San Antonio from St. Louis due to my husband’s call to be the Lutheran High principal. Being hired to teach at Shepherd of the Hills has been the answer to my prayers. I am so excited to be a part of the ministry here. My prayer is that I will have a positive impact on many lives, as God gives me the opportunity.
Although I grew up being a musician, I started to dabble in sports during college. By marrying a sports addict and having children who loved participating in them, sports took center stage in my life. My past time became watching my daughter’s games and coaching school teams. My son, however, has carried on the music gene by playing drums for praise bands whenever possible. With my children away at college I am recreating my free time activities. I still enjoy listening to music and playing hand bells. I love to take my dog on walks, play some volleyball, drink café mocha—decaffeinated, write in my journal, and watch “CSI”.
