"Commit your way unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass."Psalm 37:5
I feel very blessed to have received a call to serve here at Shepherd of the Hills. I am in my tenth year here teaching in the 4 year Old Kindergarten Program.
This year is my 28th year of teaching- 24 of them in Lutheran Schools. I started preparing for the teaching profession by attending Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Illinois. (It in now Concordia University-Chicago.) Upon receiving my B.A., I answered my first call to teach by going to Mill Neck Manor Lutheran School for the Deaf in Mill Neck, New York. I taught there for three years using my nights and summers to complete my Master's degree in Special Education/Deaf from Hunter College in New York City
It is indeed a joy to be able to share the good news of our Savior with young ones just starting on their faith journey. I love to hear their voices raised in praise and thanksgiving to their Lord. Jesus time is the best part of our day. During our day, we also learn about letters and numbers, science and social studies. We spend time on fine motor skills like, coloring, cutting, and writing. Our time together goes by very quickly especially when it is filled with song, laughter and learning.
