God has made Shepherd of the Hills a place of refuge in a stormy world so that every gift God gives might be used to equip all people to grow up in every way into Christ.

This statement is a guiding force for my ministry at Shepherd of the Hills. As Director of Equipping Ministry I work with ministry teams to make certain that the people of SHLC are challenged and given many opportunities to reach out to those who have no church home.

I work to make certain that every person who comes to this congregation -

• is welcomed into a small group where they will get to know people well and will be known by them, 
• is put in touch with opportunities to use gifts and talents in ministry, 
• has his or her own needs for ministry met.

It seems that many today are searching for their purpose in life.  I have the fun of exploring that topic with people!

I began my career as an educator in the Lutheran school system.  I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Upon graduation I moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where I taught third grade for a number of years.

I’m a native of Wisconsin and in 1981 took the opportunity to return “home” to teach in a suburb of Milwaukee.  During the years that I was there, I received a Master of Arts degree from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. 

While teaching fifth grade at Elm Grove Lutheran School I became involved with the assimilation of new members into the life of the congregation.  It is a wonderful blessing to have had the chance for a mid-life career change and the opportunity to work full-time in that same type of ministry at Shepherd of the Hills.

The move from Wisconsin to San Antonio was a huge one in terms of miles and job description; however, the support and care that I found here made the move seem short indeed.

I’m single and the owner of one spoiled cat named Morris. I enjoy reading, kayaking, and travel.  When I travel I love taking in all of the history of the area I’m visiting…and shopping.
