- Shepherd of the Hills is a 2004 National Blue Ribbon School, recognized for scoring in the top 10% nation wide on the standardized Iowa Test of Basic Skills.
- Accredited since 1991 with an excellent accreditation rating. Accreditation is through the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC). The school is recognized by the Commissioner of Education of the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

THE TODDLER PROGRAM
GRAZING ELEPHANTS (12-17 MONTHS)/ LEAPING FROGS (18 -23 MONTHS)
- This program is state licensed.
- We offer a five day a week program for children ages 12 months- 23 months, in operation from 6:30 AM until 6:30 PM. There is no part time enrollment offered in the Toddler program at this time.
- There is a daily Jesus Time and weekly chapel, learning and play centers, outside play and daily naps. Our toddler classroom theme is Noah’s Ark.
- Toddlers utilize the “Young Explorer’s Room”, an enrichment room full of wonderful activities that enhance our classroom curriculum. This classroom affords us the opportunity to focus on ABC’s, math, language development, fine motor skills development, music and movement, creative and teacher directed art and much more!
- We provide parents with a communication sheet on a daily basis, which tells you what your toddler did that day including information on diapering, naptime, and feeding. When the teacher fills in your toddler's communication sheet, she is constantly reviewing your toddler's participation in the various daily activities.
- The Family Communications Center within your child's classroom is the place to find the weekly toddler lesson plan, teacher information, parent newsletters, classroom schedule, and toddler milestones.
- There are plenty of opportunities to connect face-to-face with teachers and the Early Childhood Director. We are always available for an extra conference or meeting should the need arise.
- One of the keys to ensuring the best experience possible for your child and yourself is great communication. We hope you'll speak to us often about what your child is doing at home. For our part, we have many ways to keep you updated on what he or she does while here and what is happening at SHLS.
