Religion has just concluded a study of Jesus' birth, and is now focusing on God the Father, our Creator.
Our multicultural reading unit involves studying Americans of different ethnic backgrounds and focusing on some of them by reading biographies of their lives.
Math finds us focusing on 3 digit by 3 digit multiplication, long division, fraction use, and percentage. We are working hard, and practicing facts with fun games. Do you know what Math Twister is? How about Snake? Ask a 5th grader and they will tell you about these fun learning games.
In Science we have just shifted from Life Science to Physical Science. We are enjoying learning about forces and using various experiments to do so.
Aside from our book studies in Social Studies we are getting into our invention project by researching our topics, our inventors, and building models. We will make our presentations to the class in early March.
Our current English unit includes nouns of all types: singular, plural, possessives and more. We will soon be writing instructions for "How-to" demonstration speeches and presenting them to the class. This is always a favorite!
5th Grade is full of learning experiences. Come check us out!
