Our theme for the 2011-2012 school year is Bloom Where You Are Planted. As God's children bloom and grow through their first grade year, they will be:
- nourished daily with the waters of patience and encouragement
- fertilized with strong academic opportunity that encourages them to find joy in learning
- stimulated by the light of daily opportunities to hear, learn and share about their Lord Jesus.
Throughout the year, first graders will blossom as they participate in many learning experiences. Some of our favorites include:
- Field trips to the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Witte Museum, the Magik Theatre, Devine Acres Farm, the San Antonio Food Bank and Cibolo Nature Center
- Collaborative online projects such as the O.R.E.O. Project, Pumpkin Seed Count, and Hands Around the World project
- Christmas Snapshots Musical
- Wax Museum Biographies Project
