First Grade is dressing for success! The 2009-2010 school year brings about a focus on proper dress...students are wearing school uniforms for the first time and focusing on putting on the armor of God:
- The belt of truth
- a breastplate of righteousness
- feet fitted with the gospel of peace
- a shield of faith
- a helmet of salvation
- a sword of the spirit
First grade is more than just learning to read and write! We learn to be good friends. We learn to add and subtract. We learn about people, communities, and being good citizens. We learn about living things, habitats, and the land around us. We learn about moving and working, growing and changing, and the weather. Best of all, we learn about our friend, Jesus! I believe that God has called me to help children grow in their love for the Lord Jesus, in their love for others, and in their love for learning. This is my 19th year in the teaching ministry. During these years, I've had the privilege of teaching 4K, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 6th-8th grades. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in English from Concordia University Texas. I've also earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with principal certification from Concordia University Texas.
