Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year! May the Lord's abundant blessings cover us in our daily work for Him, and may we exemplify Jesus in all we do!

This year I begin my 9th year teaching middle schoolers at Shepherd. Each year I find that I continue to be amazed at how much I learn from my students, and how much they make me laugh.

My 2009-2010 teaching schedule includes Life Science--grade 7, Earth Science--grade 8, New Testament Religion--grade 8, Global Awareness--grades 6-7-8, and Drama/Speech--grades 6-7-8.

I have a BS Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education), with specialization in 7th and 8th Grade Life and Earth Sciences, from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

I live only 2 miles from the SHLS campus ---- what a great commute! I have been married for 22 years to Brian Ellis, an Installation Manager with the University of Texas Health Science Center (he's been there 27 years!).

I am a member of the congregation at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, where I have served as a Stephen Minister, Sunday Morning Worship Center Greeter, and leader of a Women's Bible Study group.

In addition to teaching and the sciences and my husband and my 5 cats (all adopted strays), my interests include traveling, writing, gardening, walking, reading, movies, bird-watching, live theater, my nephews and nieces, and enjoying the company of friends.
