Creating a News Article on the Shepherd of the Hills Web Site.
1.    Login to www.shlutheran.org.
2.    Click here to get to the news article page.
3.  Click on Create Article– in the middle of the screen, just above the top news article.
4.    Enter a catchy Title – something to draw the reader to your article.  Use title case.
5.    Body - type your article in this section. 
     *Include the main idea of the message in the first 150 characters.  That is how many characters will show up on the home page.
      *Just start typing, using the default font.  When finished, add bold for emphasis.  This will keep the look and feel of the web page consistent from page to page.
Tip: For the best formatting control, enter all text from scratch in this box. If you have information that exists in a word processor, you can copy and paste it using the Paste as Plain Text button.
6.   Click the + sign next to Images. Click Select Image to browse for an image on your computer.  Or browse the File Location and File Name to attach an image that is already on the web server.  Attach the image to the article.  Once you have successfully attached the image, it will appear on the window.
7.  Under Category, select one or more categories to identify your audience.
8.    Publishing Schedule – select a start date (“Publish Time & Date”) and an end date (“Expiry Time & Date”). Articles are posted for about ten days.
Tip: It is best to enter the article ahead of time, picking a start date at some point in the future, rather than waiting for the day you want to article to appear.  This allows time for the submission process to be completed.
11.Click Publish at the bottom of the page when you are finished. 
Tip: If you want to work on your article at a later time, click Update instead of Publish. Then login and click on My Articles instead of Create Article.
Tip: Be sure to proofread before clicking on Publish. Once you have sent your article to the site administrator, you will no longer be able to edit it.
Your “published” article will be sent to the site administrator for approval. Once approved, you’ll see your article on the home page (after the start date).
