Middle School Ministry is a unique time in your life. Nothing is like it! You're no longer a kid but you're not quite an adult. You go through so many changes with your body, your family, your friends, and your school. Surely, you need a safe place to talk about all these things. You might even have questions about how this all fits in with God and faith. The Middle School Ministry is designed specifically for you and the issues you face.
Theme Verse: "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." (Luke 2:52)
Key Concepts: We grow UP and we grow OUT.
Sunday School (UPward growth)
9:30 - 10:30 AM at various locations around church
6th Grade / "My Bible" - In 6th grade, we get to take at look at all the amazing stories in the Bible and see how God's Word really is a gift to us. We meet in School Room 207 and Mark Kent is our teacher.
7th Grade / "My Faith" (Confirmation) - In 7th grade, we ask "What do I believe?" Maybe we've grown up in the church, or maybe we haven't, but Confirmation is a time we explore the beliefs of our Christian faith. We meet in the Upper Room in the church building and Pastor Chris is our teacher, along with Scott Thompson and Brad Becker.
8th Grade / "My Life" - After Confirmation is over, we don't stop there. We need to figure out how to apply the things we've learned to our lives. This is what 8th grade is about. We meet in School Room 204 and our teachers are Craig Cannon and Amy Tilt.
Hangouts (OUTward growth)
Various times throughout the year
Hangouts are times to get together and do just that! Hang out! We might show a movie in the youth room or go laser tagging. This is your time to get out and have some fun! Bring a friend. We will have a few of these hang outs during the year; keep your eye on the Special Events page and the Calendar page to see what we have cookin'!
Service Projects (OUTward growth)
Various times throughout the year
Having fun and hanging out with friends is important, but so is being willing to serve others in the community. Jesus said that those who want to be great in the Kingdom of God are those who are willing to get down on their knees and serve. We are always planning new service projects; be sure to check out the Special Events page and see what's coming up!
