Confirmation

At Shepherd of the Hills, we believe faith is a journey that begins when we are first baptized (or otherwise come to faith) and ends when we die and go to be with God for eternity. Confirmation is simply one of the many markers along that journey. For that reason, we are calling our Confirmation program "Faith Roadtrip" because that's exactly what it is. We visit the major landmarks of our faith, such as the Apostle's Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord's Prayer.

Faith Roadtrip is a two-year experience for 7th and 8th graders. Students begin the journey in August of their 7th grade year and are confirmed on Pentecost Sunday of their 8th grade year (usually sometime in May or June). First Communion is celebrated on Maundy Thursday of their 8th grade year.

Faith Roadtrip falls under the umbrella of "Student Ministry" so details pertaining to everyone in the Student Ministry will include students and families who are a part of Confirmation. Our goal as the Student Ministry is to provide you with a place where you can connect with other believers, grow in your relationship with God, and serve the community around you.

Confirmation Class - Meets in the library at 9:30 - 10:30 AM every Sunday during the school year. During the Summer, Confirmands are invited to attend the Middle School Sunday School class.

8th Grade Sunday School - Meets in Room 207 at 9:30 - 10:30 AM every Sunday.

Special Events

7th and 8th graders get to participate in period special events such as the Confirmation retreat, Youth Quake and Summer Serve. Be sure to check out our Upcoming Events for more information.
