Dear Parents,
God has blessed Shepherd of the Hills so richly with the opportunity to care for children since 1979! Our program began as a Mother’s Day Out with 7 children. Now there are 425 students from age six weeks to grade 8 in the school and childcare program during the school year.
In our summer program, childcare is available for children age six weeks to those entering grade 8 in the fall. The summer childcare program is one filled with activities, field trips (for children Pre-Kindergarten and above), game room, educational growth, technology, physical education and much more!
We are blessed to have at least 95% of our current childcare staff continuing to work with the children this summer. It is a true gift to the students in the summer childcare program to have staff familiar with them and the excellent care expected to be provided to the children in our summer program.
Students will participate in a variety of field trips beginning the week of June 7th. Field trips for children in Kindergarten to Grade 8 will include many exciting places. Such places as Fiesta Farm, Bandera Bowl, Peter Pipers, Raymond Rimkus Park, the Backyard Theatre, Miniature Golf, Ice Skating and the movie theater will be included in the final list of field trips. The exact list of field trips, summer classroom schedules, list of days and times for special classes such as swimming lessons, gymnastics, dance, guitar, and karate classes are available in the School & Childcare Office.
